Norway-based T-VIPS AS will be exhibiting its JPEG2000 video transport solutions and other advanced distribution systems at the coming CommunicAsia 2008 trade event in Singapore on June 17 to 20.
T-VIPS will demonstrate the high quality video transport capabilities of JPEG2000 with a live link between the T-VIPS stand (6D4-01) and the NeraTel stand (5G3-01)¡XT-VIPS' business partner in Singapore. JPEG2000 compressed HD material will run on an Ethernet link between the stands using a TVG430 Video Gateway at both ends. This live demonstration will display the superior quality of JPEG2000 HD video contribution over more traditional transport methods.
T-VIPS pioneered JPEG2000-based video distribution, being the first to launch, market and deploy video transport solutions based on this codec. The T-VIPS TVG430 utilizes advanced Forward Error Correction (FEC) technology, which ensures that the company's JPEG2000 solutions are capable of reliably distributing high-quality HD and SD video over IP and ASI networks. The product allows network operators to build revenue-generating professional Wide Area Networks for the video industry.
Also on display at CommunicAsia will be the T-VIPS TVG420, which handles any MPEG-2 transport stream carrying MPEG-2, MPEG-4 (H.264) or VC.1 compressed video in SD as well as HD, enabling market-leading transmission of compressed digital video over IP networks. Up to eight DVB ASI transport stream connections, together with a Gigabit Ethernet interface, give a very compact and cost effective solution. The TVG420 uses FEC to increase robustness against network packet loss.
Additionally, the company will be demonstrating T-VIPS Connect, its management solution that ensures easy operation of complex video distribution systems. As well as monitoring equipment status, T-VIPS Connect also checks the health of contribution and distribution connectivity and service status and simplifies the task of setting-up and tearing down occasional networks, which is particularly attractive for broadcasters distributing sports and news footage.
