SPK-GSM-GPRS-Modem-GM100 from SPK Electronics is a new generation on GSM/GPRS data modems, offering full data, audio and GPS support in a small low power modem. The wide range of configurable operating modes makes the SPK-GSM-GPRS-Modem-GM100 suitable for applications where conventional remote monitoring was not possible, for example, the SPK-GSM-GPRS-Modem-GM100 can be set to send a SMS to preset numbers then remain powered for a preset time awaiting an incoming call, before returning to its 75mW* sleep mode, all using a single control line or on a specified time and or date. This is in addition to all traditional functionality. Power consumption has been kept to a minimum, 75mW in sleep mode, or typically 30mW in standby mode, while still maintaining a GPRS connection or able to receive an incoming call or SMS. Integration has been made simple by maintaining SPK standard module footprint and connectors. Expansion connectors allow external mounting of network status LED, remote RTC battery, audio and optional GPS.
