Airbee Wireless has executed a license agreement with SoftBaugh Inc. to provide both its 4-node and full ZigBee-ready protocol stacks (ZNS). Developers then have the option of having either stack reside on Texas Instrument's MSP430 controllers.
"Application developers can now rapidly build and test a 4-node mesh ZigBee-ready network solution for the MSP430 family of processors," said Tom Baugh, CEO for SoftBaugh. "They then can migrate to the full ZigBee-ready stack via Airbee's ZNS protocol stack and start developing full ZigBee systems."
"The popularity of the MSP430 microcontroller family made it important for us to work with TI and SoftBaugh, the world's largest MSP430 tool vendor, to offer a ZigBee-ready evaluation platform," said David McCartney, Airbee VP for sales and marketing. "Current and future MSP430 users can now test and use the ZigBee technology on their TI MSP430. By leveraging our experience with SoftBaugh and TI's MSP430 MCUs, we've developed a ZigBee microcontroller board that can support the rapidly growing ZigBee technology market." |
