RF Monolithics Inc. (RFM), a developer, manufacturer and supplier of RF wireless solutions announced that all of its products will be compliant with the European Union's (EU) Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS) directive by the July 6, 2006, deadline.
The RoHS directive provides that electrical and electronic equipment sold in the EU after the deadline cannot contain significant amounts of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) except where technically exempted by the directive. RFM's specification sheets for products that currently comply with RoHS directives have the notation "Complies with Directive 2002/95/EC (RoHS)" and are identified with a universal Lead Free Symbol.
"RFM has developed a full range of RoHS-compliant products and we have begun shipping these products into the EU. Our components, radios, and modules have been very successful in European markets and our aggressive stance on RoHS compliance is expected to insure our continued success in these markets," said Jon S. Prokop, vice president, Operations. |
